Definition

কারো অপরাধ বা ভুলের জন্য কঠোর শাস্তি, বিচার বা শৃঙ্খলা দেওয়া অথবা চাপিয়ে দেওয়া। সাধারণত কর্মকর্তার মাধ্যমে, জোরপূর্বকভাবে হয়।

Usage Notes (Bengali)

'mete out' সাধারণত 'শাস্তি', 'বিচার', বা 'শৃঙ্খলা' এর মতো নেতিবাচক বিষয়গুলোর সাথে ব্যবহৃত হয়। আনুষ্ঠানিক এবং দৈনন্দিন কথোপকথনে খুব একটা ব্যবহার হয় না। ইতিবাচক অর্থে ব্যবহার করবেন না।
