祝祭やパーティーなどで、幸せそうでにぎやかな雰囲気や人を表す言葉です。普段の会話ではあまり使われず、挨拶や歌、物語などでよく見られます。

「Merry」は “merry Christmas” や「make merry（陽気に過ごす）」のような挨拶や表現で使われます。普段の会話では「happy」を使うことが多いです。
