जहाज़ पर ऊँचे खड़े खंभे जिन पर पाल बंधे होते हैं, या वे लंबे खंभे जो एंटीना या झंडा संभालते हैं।

यह औपचारिक और तकनीकी शब्द है, मुख्यतः नौपरिवहन (जहाज़) में प्रयोग होता है; कभी-कभी एंटीना या झंडे के खंभे के लिए भी इस्तेमाल होता है। इसे 'मास' (भार) से न मिलाएँ।
