Definition

水がたまりやすく、草やアシなどが生える柔らかい土地。川や湖、海岸の近くによくあります。

‘湿地’や‘沼地’は主に自然環境を指し、人が住んだり農業をしたりしません。'salt marshes'（塩性湿地）、'wetland marshes'（湿った土地）など。'swamp'（沼）とは異なり、木が少なくて水も比較的きれいです。
