目的地や目標に向かって少しずつ、または努力して進むこと。また、人生や仕事で前進する意味もあります。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

たいてい「make your way home」のように目的地が続きます。障害物を越えて進むニュアンスや、着実な進歩を示す場合が多いです。短距離やすぐ着く場合には使いません。
