Definition
‘মেইনস’ বলতে কোনও বাড়ির প্রধান বিদ্যুৎ বা পানির সংযোগ বুঝানো হয়, আবার ব্রিটিশ ইংরেজিতে এটি খাবারের প্রধান পদের কথাও বোঝাতে পারে।
Usage Notes (Bengali)
‘মেইনস’ সাধারণত বিদ্যুৎ বা পানির স্পষ্ট সংযোগ বুঝাতে ইউকে-তে বেশি ব্যবহার হয়। খাবার প্রসঙ্গে ‘প্রধান পদ’ বলা হয়, যা মার্কিন যুক্তরাষ্ট্রে বিরল।
