Definition

使某人嚴重受傷，以致無法使用身體的某一部分，通常是永久性的。

Usage Notes (Chinese (Traditional))

較正式並有點舊式，常用於戰爭或事故導致的嚴重永久性傷殘。“maim for life”、“seriously maim”是常見搭配。不指小傷。
