Definition

なめらかな表面に見られるやわらかな光や輝き。また、特別な美しさや名声を表すこともある。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

主に丁寧な表現や描写的な文章で使われ、金属や髪などの輝きの表現や、比喩的に名声や栄光にも用いられます。「きらきら」や「光る」と区別して使います。
