Definition

किसी चीज़ को काटना, खासकर पेड़ या पौधे की डाली। अक्सर अनावश्यक या अतिरिक्त भाग हटाने के लिए प्रयोग किया जाता है।

Usage Notes (Hindi)

"Lop" आमतौर पर "off" के साथ आता है ("lop off"). पेड़ों-पौधों के लिए ज्यादा उपयोग, पर अन्य चीज़ों के लिए या रूपक में भी हो सकता है। "cut off" से अधिक औपचारिक और कम आम है।
