読む

Definition

書かれた文字や記号、看板などを見て意味を理解すること。また、地図や人の表情から情報を読み取ることも含みます。

「読む」は本、説明、看板、相手の気持ちや雰囲気を読む場合にも使います。「read a book」「read out loud」「read between the lines」などのフレーズに注意。過去形は「読んだ」。

I read the newspaper every morning.

私は毎朝新聞を**読みます**。
