Definition

亜麻仁は、アマという植物の小さくて光沢のある茶色い種子で、油や食品の材料として使われます。英語で「フラックスシード」とも呼ばれます。

「Linseed」と「flaxseed」は同じ種子で、イギリス英語では「linseed」が多く使われます。健康食品、油、お菓子作り、塗料やニスにも使われます。他の種子（ごまやチア）とは違います。
