人や物を他の誰かや物のすぐ隣にまっすぐ並べて立つまたは整列させること。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

主にスポーツや式典、軍隊など組織的な場面で使われる。'line up' だけだと隣に並ぶ意味はないので注意。
