국회나 지방의회 등에서 법을 만들거나 통과시키는 일을 하는 사람들.

대부분 국가 또는 지방 정부의 선출된 의원을 가리킵니다. '입법자', '국회의원'과 비슷하지만 판사나 경찰 등에는 사용하지 않습니다.
