Las latitudes son las líneas horizontales imaginarias que rodean la Tierra, medidas en grados, que indican cuán al norte o al sur está un lugar respecto al ecuador. También puede referirse a la libertad de acción en ciertos contextos.

'Latitudes' se usa principalmente en geografía, pero también puede referirse a libertad o margen de acción ('dar latitud'). Son comunes las frases 'altas latitudes' (cerca de los polos) y 'bajas latitudes' (cerca del ecuador). No confundir con 'longitud', que mide posición este-oeste.
