Definition

একটি ধারালো যন্ত্র দিয়ে কোনো ফোলা বা সংক্রমিত স্থানে কেটে ফেলা হয় যাতে পুঁজ বা তরল বেরিয়ে আসে; চিকিৎসাগতভাবে প্রয়োগ হয়।

প্রধানত চিকিৎসা বা ইতিহাসিক প্রেক্ষাপটে ব্যবহার হয়। 'The doctor lanced the abscess' অর্থ ডাক্তার ফোড়া কেটেছেন। সাধারণ কাটা নয়; খোঁচানো বা ফোড়া কাটার জন্য।
