يستخدم عادةً للأفعال الجسدية، مثل 'jump over the wall'. لا يُستخدم للأفكار المجردة. لا تخلط بينه وبين 'jump on' (يعتلي بالقفز) أو 'jump across' (يعبر بالقفز). مصطلح يومي وغير رسمي.
