"Jib" é uma vela triangular na frente de um barco à vela, ou a lança de um guindaste.

Termo principalmente náutico ou de engenharia. Em barcos, "jib" é a vela de proa. Em guindastes, é a lança. Não confunda com "jibe" (virar o barco ou concordar, em inglês). Uso geralmente técnico.
