Definition
人をバカにしたり、からかったりする大きな声や笑い、コメントです。誰かを恥ずかしくさせたり、侮辱したりするときに使われます。
Usage Notes (Japanese)
スポーツの試合や演説、舞台などでよく使われ、ネガティブな場面に出てきます。“loud jeers”“jeers from the crowd”などの形が多いです。フォーマルな場では使わないように注意しましょう。“cheers”と混同しないこと。
