옷이나 천의 주름을 다림질로 펴는 것. 비유적으로 문제를 해결하거나 부드럽게 만들 때도 사용됨.

주로 옷에 대해 사용된다. 'ironed shirt', 'freshly ironed'와 같은 표현이 흔함. 'ironed out'는 문제 해결에도 씀. 주로 완료된 행동을 나타냄.
