Definition

祈願（いがん）や祈りは、高次の存在や神に助けや導きを正式に求める言葉で、儀式や行事などの冒頭で行われることが多い表現です。

フォーマルな儀式や宗教的な場でよく使われます。「祈願を捧げる」「祈りを述べる」などの形で用いられ、日常会話にはあまり現れません。IT分野では関数呼び出しの意味もありますが一般的ではありません。
