指计划或打算在将来做某事。也可以表示某物是为某个人、用途或结果而设计或准备的。

最常见的结构是 'intend to + 动词'。在正式语境中，'be intended for' 常表示“为……而设计 / 供……使用”。它比 'want' 更强调经过考虑的意图，但有时又没有 'plan' 那么具体。不要和 'pretend' 混淆。
