何かの使い方や作り方を詳しく説明するもの。また、人に何かをするように指示する意味もあります。

多くの場合複数形で使い、『read the instructions』『follow the instructions』のように用います。公式な案内や手順の場合は『instructions』がよく使われます。職場では上司からの指示という意味もあります。
