言葉や名前、記号などを物に刻んで残すこと。公式な名簿や記録に名前を載せる意味もある。
Usage Notes (Japanese)
『inscribe』はカジュアルな「書く」とは異なり、記念碑や指輪、賞などの正式で恒久的な彫りや記載に使う。日常的な書き方には使わない。
