人が亡くなった後に財産や特徴などを受け取ること。また、家族から身体的・性格的な特徴を受け継ぐことも含む。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

法的・家族・生物学的な場面で使われることが多い。「inheriting property」は財産相続、「inheriting traits」は特徴の遺伝。単なる「受け取る」とは区別して使うこと。
