堅苦しくなく、リラックスした状態や雰囲気。厳密なルールや形式にこだわらないこと。

主に職場・社会・言語の場面で使われ、親しみやすさやリラックスした雰囲気によい印象もあるが、場合によっては失礼や非公式と受け取られることも。"level of informality"や"a sense of informality"といった表現で使う。
