誰かや何かに苦痛や損害などの悪いことを与えること。
Usage Notes (Japanese)
主に悪いこと（痛み・被害・罰など）に使うフォーマルな表現。「inflicts pain」「inflicts damage」などがよく使われる。与える内容が目的語となる。良い意味には使わない。
Examples
The virus inflicts harm on the body.
ウイルスは体に**害を与える**。
