যে কিছু ভালোভাবে কাজ করে না, সময়, শক্তি বা সম্পদ নষ্ট করে অথবা কাঙ্ক্ষিত ফল আনতে ব্যর্থ হয়।

'inefficient system', 'inefficient worker' ইত্যাদিতে ব্যবহৃত হয়। বিপরীত শব্দ 'efficient'। 'insufficient' (অপর্যাপ্ত) এর সাথে গুলিয়ে ফেলবেন না।
