物事がすべてではなく、一部の面や観点で当てはまる場合に使われる表現です。

主に書き言葉や丁寧な会話で使われ、「in some ways」より少し堅い表現です。「in every respect」（すべての点で）と混同しないようにしましょう。

In some respects, this book is difficult to understand.
