Ser a pessoa responsável ou que tem controlo sobre algo ou alguém. Normalmente, significa liderar, gerir ou tomar as decisões principais numa situação, grupo ou tarefa.

Expressão de registro informal a neutro. Costuma vir com 'of', por exemplo, 'in charge of the group'. Não é sempre um cargo formal—pode ser só uma responsabilidade momentânea. Não deve ser confundido com 'in control', que refere-se a ter poder sobre algo.
