不純物とは、他の物質に混ざってその純度を下げる、不要なものや汚れのことです。物理的・化学的なものや道徳的な意味も含まれる場合があります。

主に科学・技術・正式な文脈で使われます。化学や水の浄化、金属精製などでよく登場し、場合によっては「心の不純物」など比喩的にも使われます。
