他人の行動や話し方などをまねること。学ぶため、楽しませるため、またはからかうために使われる。

人や声、しぐさをまねる時によく使います。学習やお世辞、からかいにも使われます。'imitated voice'は「声をまねた」になります。「emulate」や「fake」とは意味が異なります。

The child imitated his father's walk.
