누군가나 무언가를 정확히 알아보거나 이름을 밝히는 행위 또는 신원을 증명하는 공식 문서.

공식 문서나 경찰, 병원 등에서 자주 씁니다. ‘신원 확인’은 과정이나 ‘신분증’은 증명서 둘 다 뜻할 수 있어요. 'identity'(정체성)와는 다름에 주의하세요.
