Definition

初期研修医とは、医大を卒業して病院で最初の年を過ごす若手医師のことです。昔の英語表現では男性家政婦を指す場合もありましたが、現在ではほとんど使われていません。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

「houseman」はイギリスやイギリス連邦で初期研修医を指します。アメリカ英語では「intern」を多く使います。家政婦の意味は現代ではほぼ使われません。
