Se usa tanto para atención de emergencia como rutinaria. Normalmente, 'go to the hospital' implica ser paciente; 'work at the hospital' implica ser empleado. En inglés estadounidense se usa 'the hospital', y en el británico 'in hospital' al estar internado.
