Definition

岬は、海や大きな湖に突き出した高い陸地で、しばしば急な斜面を持っています。

地理や文学、旅行の文脈でよく使われます。小さな岩や砂州には使いません。一般的に、大きな陸地の突き出した部分を指し、「promontory」に近い意味です。
