一時的に借りた物や受け取った物を元の持ち主や場所に戻すこと。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

学校や職場などで借りたものを返す時によく使われます。「hand back the book」のようにモノを指定して使います。最初に渡す時には使いません。

Please hand back the book when you finish reading.

読み終わったら本を**返してください**。

The teacher will hand back your test papers tomorrow.
