仕事や活動などに不慣れで経験がない人。何かを始めたばかりの人を指します。

「新人」「初心者」はカジュアルな言い方で、時に冗談っぽく使われます。「rookie」や「newbie」と同じような意味ですが、年配の人にはあまり使いません。
