কোনো কিছু হঠাৎ খুব দ্রুত বেড়ে যাওয়া বা কেউ হঠাৎ খুব রেগে যাওয়া। সাধারণত দামে বা আবেগে ব্যবহৃত হয়।

Usage Notes (Bengali)

অনানুষ্ঠানিক। 'prices went through the roof' মানে দাম খুব বেড়ে গেছে, আর 'he went through the roof' মানে সে খুব রেগে গেছে। এই বাক্যাংশটি আক্ষরিক নয়, রূপক অর্থে ব্যবহৃত হয়।
