부당한 대우를 받다손해를 보다

Definition

부당하게 대우받거나 받아야 할 것을 못 받는 것. 주로 다른 사람이 더 좋은 대우를 받을 때 쓴다.

비격식적, 구어체 표현. 주로 일, 구매, 대인관계에서 억울함을 토로할 때 쓴다. 공식문서에는 사용하지 않는다. '부당 대우'보다 감정이 섞여 있음.

He worked hard but still got the shaft.

그는 열심히 일했지만 그래도 **부당한 대우를 받았다**.

We got the shaft when our flight was canceled.

비행기가 취소되어 **우리는 손해를 봤다**.

She felt she got the shaft in the deal.

그녀는 거래에서 **손해를 봤다고 생각했다**.
