驚きや感心、不満、少しがっかりした気持ちをやわらかく表すくだけた感動詞です。少し古風だったり、やさしい印象があります。

たいてい文の冒頭に使われます（例：'Gee, thanks.'）。'oh my God' や 'damn' よりも優しい意味合いです。無邪気、皮肉、または少し古風に感じられることもあります。
