Definition

ギャングウェイは、特に船に乗り降りするためや、劇場などの座席の間にある狭い通路のことです。

'Gangway'は航海関連でよく使われますが、劇場の通路にも使います。"Gangway!"は「どいて！」の意味です。アメリカ英語では'theater aisle'が使われます。

The ship lowered the gangway for passengers to board.
