Definition

糸や紐などのフリンジが縁につけられている、または縁にフリンジのような飾りがあること。比喩的に周囲を何かが囲んでいる意味でも使う。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

主に服やインテリアの装飾で使う語。'fringed jacket', 'fringed lampshade' など。比喩的にも利用（例：“湖が森に囲まれている”）。髪型のフリンジには使わない。
