Definition
As frankfurters são salsichas finas, cozidas, feitas de carne de vaca ou porco, normalmente servidas quentes num pão. Nos EUA também são conhecidas como hot dogs.

'Frankfurters' pode referir-se apenas à salsicha ou ao hot dog completo. 'Hot dog' é mais usado nos EUA; 'frankfurter' é mais formal ou antigo. Costuma-se usar o plural para várias salsichas.
