源泉とは、物事、特に知識や知恵、助けなどが生まれる根本となる場所や人、または水が湧き出る泉のことです。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

主にフォーマルや文語体で、非物質的なこと（例:『a fount of wisdom』）の源として使われます。物理的な水源には『泉』、文脈次第で『源泉』を使います。「font」とは別の単語です。
