खासकर खेलों में नियम के उल्लंघन के लिए, तकनीकी/इंजीनियरिंग में जमा होने के लिए इस्तेमाल होता है ('biofouling', 'pipe fouling')। संदर्भ से मतलब साफ होता है। साधारण गंदगी के लिए नहीं।
