要塞砦

Definition

要塞や砦は、攻撃から守るために建てられた頑丈な建物や場所です。歴史上、兵士が使ったことが多いです。

'forts'は主に歴史的・軍事的な要塞や、子供の遊び場（ピロー要塞）に使われます。現代の軍事基地には使いません。

The old city has many forts on the hills.
