상대방이 원하지 않거나 부탁하지 않은 것을 억지로 떠맡기거나 강제로 받아들이게 하는 것. 보통 부당하거나 교묘한 방식으로 이루어집니다.

주로 공식적·비판적 상황에서 사용되며, 'on/upon'과 함께 쓰여 강제로 책임, 물건 등을 넘긴다는 뉘앙스가 있습니다. 긍정적인 상황엔 쓰지 않습니다.
