Definition
「flukes」は思いがけない幸運な出来事や、クジラなどの尾びれ、寄生虫の吸虫を指しますが、多くの場合は偶然や運の意味で使われます。

幸運や偶然を表す場合は主に非公式な場で複数形「flukes」として使われます。生物学の用法は専門的です。
