Definition

অনেক পানি শুকনো জমি ঢেকে ফেলে, সাধারণত অতিবৃষ্টি বা নদী উপচে পড়লে এটি ঘটে। শব্দটি বিপুল পরিমাণ কিছু বোঝাতেও ব্যবহৃত হয়।

Usage Notes (Bengali)

'বন্যা' সাধারণত প্রকৃত প্রাকৃতিক দুর্যোগ বোঝাতে বহুবচনে ব্যবহৃত হয়। 'floods of emotion'-এর মত রূপকে 'প্রবাহ' শব্দটি ব্যবহার হয়। সংবাদ, সরকারি বক্তৃতায় বেশি দেখা যায়।
