投光器とは、夜間にスポーツ場や建物、ステージなどの広い屋外を明るく照らす強力なライトです。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

スポーツやコンサート、セキュリティ照明として複数形で使われることが多いです。小さなライトや柔らかい明かりには用いません。「フラッドライトをつける」「フラッドライトの下で」などの表現があります。
